when nature calls

Have i ever mentioned how much i detests dirty stinky toilets? What? I haven't told you? Well i'm telling you now; i HATE dirty stinking toilets! But then again, who in the right mind would like it?

There are two types of bowls, the squatting type and the sitting type. I prefer the sitting type for the simplest reasons. Firstly, you have to squat, which is tiring. Then, i find myself being too close to the pee and shit for comfort. Also, the area around the bowl is, more often than not, wet, and you won't know if it's pee or just water.

Today i was in school and i went into a cubicle. It reeks of urine smell. The area on the floor around the bowl was wet. It's the sitting kind, mind you. If it's pee, i wonder how a person could miss the bowl and pee on the floor instead. The toilet roll was strewn all over the floor, maybe a desperate attempt to clean up the mess.

Then there are times when the flush is out of order and the toilet is so full of shit (quite literally) and there's also toilet paper and maybe traces of blood. You just have to use it lest you want to pee in your pants.

I'm totally terrified when i go abroad to countryside where there isn't a proper sewage system. You do your business into this hole filled with water. After you're done, you scoop water from this other pail to pour into the hole to flush your deposits away. Not to mention flies lurking around and mosquito lavae in the corner of the room ominously. You hurriedly get it over and done with and flee.

Of course, not all toilets are that bad. Some proves to be quite and experience. They are clean, air-conditioned and have music playing in the background. Every few seconds, air freshener will be released. There are huge mirrors and even couches. It lives up to the name of "restroom". A room for resting indeed.

think about it

How would you react when you see someone you haven't met for a long time? Well, i guess it depends on who it is; whether it's a friend or just merely an acquaintance. Anyway today i met two; a friend and an acquaintance.

Let's start with the acquaintance. She saw me from afar. She did not smile. Her face was a mixture of, i don't know, disgust and disappointment? I smiled, waved and said hi. Her reply was a half-hearted of wave and a weak smile.

It was disappointing. I hate it whenever i get excited seeing someone i know and smiling only to get a not-too-enthusiastic response.

After that i met a friend and we stood aside and catch up for a while. Both of us were chipy and enthusiastic. It made my day after that.

I usually don't bump into people when i go out. But if i do bump into people with the not-so-positive response, well i'd rather not run into anyone then.

Really tired man. Haven't felt this way in a long time. I fell asleep in class, couldn't wake up. My friends just let me sleep, my head falling all over the place. After class i came home, ate, then totally knocked out. i think i slept for about 3 hours till i awoke to my mum shouting for my bro.

It's been a busy period. Christmas, New year, school, lots of going out and returning home late. Maybe that explains why i'm so tired. And there's chinese new year, brother's birthday, valentines' day and joy's birthday coming up.

I need:

1. to study (mock exams in Feb/March and exams in May)
2. to sleep (my eyes are really dry and irritated)
3. money (valentines' day, friends' 21st birthday and not to mention my own birthday which requires $$ to organise a party)

Off to bed now.
